This is important and very sensitive work, and so volunteering at the Men's Referral Service brings its own special set of responsibilities. Volunteers need to:

• support our organisation’s philosophy
• adhere to our policies, procedures and minimum standards
• be punctual and reliable
• attend for their work in a physical and emotional state whereby they are able to provide appropriate and effective services, and not attend under the influence of drugs or alcohol
• maintain communication with staff and management, and in particular, read all information sent to them by the service
• share skills, information and resources within the organisation when appropriate
• ensure that service users are not solicited for personal gain of any kind 
• promote nonviolence in their own life and advocate for nonviolence within the general community.
