Volunteer opportunities

Telephone counselling

We have at least two intakes of volunteers each year. If you are interested in volunteering, you need to:

  • attend one of our volunteer information nights
  • complete an application form, outlining your reasons for wanting to volunteer, and your skills and experience
  • participate in a group interview.

Please contact No To Violence Male Family Violence Prevention Association if you would further information or to enquire about becoming a telephone counsellor.

Volunteering if you already have qualifications and experience

We recognise that counsellors and counselling students already have many of skills required to work as telephone counsellors with the Men's Referral Service. We are in the process of developing an abridged training course, to train and induct appropriately skilled and experienced would-be volunteers in the specifics of male family violence telephone counselling.

To register your interest, please contact No To Violence.

Other volunteer opportunities

We have a busy office and always appreciate offers of other forms of voluntary assistance. If you have the appropriate skills, qualifications and experience, you might be able to help us with:

  • administrative support
  • legal and financial matters
  • graphic design, writing and editing
  • campaigning and advocacy.

If you can spare some hours and wish to help us out, please contact No To Violence.
